CD Student Zubia Qasim’s Poster Becomes Part of “Close Guantanamo” Campaign

IVS Communication Design student, Zubia Qasim won 3rd Position in a competition held by the Center for Victims of Torture (CVT). CVT is a non-profit organization that supports survivors of torture and violence.

The CVT partnered with Amnesty International and held a contest for graphic designers under 30. The posters of the winners were to be used for a campaign to close down Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp.

It gives us great pride to share that Zubia’s poster is now being used in CVT’s campaign in Washington DC!

"I participated in this contest because as a human and as a Muslim, it’s my job to use my power and privilege, be it my voice or my artwork to fight against this extreme torture and abuse." - Zubia Qasim
