The founders of IVS; a talented group of architects, designers and artists had a yearning to acknowledge their social responsibilities and reciprocate by contributing to the growth and development of our society. Years ago, they perceived that the best way to advance society is by fostering education and it was at that moment that the dream and vision of Indus Valley school of Art and Architecture was conceived.
I welcome the new foundation year students to IVS, where our vision leads us to nurture excellence in academics through a rigorous curriculum. You should know that our students must be extremely dedicated and willing to persevere through challenges, failures, opportunities and successes. Our primary focus is to achieve unparalleled excellence in the fields of Architecture, Art and Design and through this, bring development to our society and mankind by optimizing their potential, thereby turning mirrors into windows.
But more importantly and beyond a sound education, we wish to provide a holistic learning experience that impacts you throughout your life and travels beyond the boundaries of mere books. We all realize that future is an abstraction and an unknown entity, but you are real and can be an agent of change in the fast decaying human conditions in 21st century. It is our fervent hope that your education will equip you with knowledge and leadership skills that will help you to contribute uniquely to our society and nation.
As the Chairman Board of Governors of IVS, my aim is to ensure that our students have access to the best possible opportunities and experiences during undergrad education, so that they can reach their full potential and are better prepared for the future. We believe in developing and celebrating students as individuals and not just as learners. We believe that every student, regardless of ability, deserves a world class education. Everyone of you has hidden potential to be uncovered and nurtured and I strongly believe that as a learning community we can unlock this potential.
Finally, I wish you will have a great start to your academic career at IVS, but I don’t believe that you need to have a great start, rather you have to start to be great.
Chairman, Board of Governors
