1. Salsa- Jive Dancing Classes
The participants will learn around 30 different moves and combos of Salsa and Modern Jive (a hybrid called Salsa-Jive) This is not only easy to learn but beautiful to look at when done with practice. Students will learn all about the postures, move sets, history of the dance and how to choreograph their own songs. From the Somrero and Abanco to the aggressive finesse of Paso Doble, the course has a lot to offer blending learning with fun.

Duration: 06 weeks/two days a week
Course Fee: Rs. 8000
Timing:  Thu 18:30 – 20:00/Sat 16:30 – 18:00


2. Advance Fashion Designing
Participants of this workshop will develop their conceptual and practical skills in fashion design and illustration, through practical exercises. They will also cover the basics, entrepreneurs require to fit into the bigger picture in the competitive environment of the industry.

Duration: 8 weeks / two days a week
Course Fee: Rs.14,000/-
Timing: 17:00 – 18:30

3. Photo & Image Editing
Digital photography is more than just capturing images in the camera; it’s also about editing, enhancing, managing and organizing them. This workshop is essential for those shooting and working with digital image files and who are a little baffled by the process and where to start. Image Editing for amateur and beginners is  getting to grips with a few of key tools that greatly increase the quality of their photos. Through demonstrations and hands-on tuition using  powerful and intuitive image processing/editing components of Photoshop programme,  you will also learn to add text and other effects to your images.

Duration: 6 weeks / three days a week
Course Fee: Rs.9,000/-
Timing: 17:00 – 19:00

4. Sewing and Pattern Making Class
The participants will learn and understand the concepts of pattern making from basic   blocks to creating garments through dart manipulation. Learning how to take body measurement, the basic professional techniques used in the construction of garments, sewing techniques including cutting, construction and finishing are important skills practiced throughout the course. Use of industrial equipment and creating garments using different types of fabrics makes this class very interesting.
 
Duration: 4 weeks / three days a week
Course fee: 16,000/-
Timing: 10:00 – 14:00

5.  Writing and Directing for Television
Participants will have the opportunity to develop the skills essential to creative process of writing and direction for television.   From the first stages of the breakdown process to final script, familiarity with storylines and characters, how to direct your talent pool, shadowing exercises, pre-production, shooting and post-production are some of the learning outcome of this course.

Duration: 8 weeks / two days a week

6.  Therapy through clay  
The class will be learning simple methods of clay working and making sculptural forms, with minimum materials and tools but maximum energy and excitement. This ceramic workshop is for clay lovers of all ages. Beginners as well as for those who want to create and experience the feel of soft malleable clay in their hands. The magic will follow…..

7.  Basic Drawing and Painting
A workshop series on fundamentals of seeing line and value through studies of nature, still-life arrangements, the human figure, and concepts of perspective. You will also learn the relationships of materials, media, and techniques in both figurative and abstract art. The elements of colour and composition are introduced and explored.

Duration: 08 weeks / three days a week

Timing: 17:00 – 19:00

 
8.  Learn Farsi (A Persian Language Course)
This course will provide students with a basic knowledge of the Persian language. All language skills--listening, speaking, reading, and writing, will be developed through the study of authentic materials and in-class communicative activities. An important component of the course will be the exploration of historical, literary, and artistic manifestations of Iranian culture. In preparing the course materials the emphasis has been placed on colloquial Persian. However, the textual readings, and the content, utilize examples of both literary and colloquial Persian

Duration: 06 weeks / three days a week
Course fee: 10,000/-
Timing: 16:00 – 17:30


9. Interior Design level I
This course is an overview of interior design: terminology, the process of design, space planning, materials, and the presentation of effective design solutions for a variety of interiors. You will learn about colours, communicating concepts and combining materials and finishes.

Duration: 08 weeks / two days a week
Course fee: 14,000/-
Timing: 17:30 – 19:00


10. Textile Design
extiles are made to be used primarily as furnishings and dress and are one of the most functional of the decorative arts. This workshop series provides basic textiles designing knowledge and broadens your artistic skills.  The program is developed with emphasis on print designing, incorporating various techniques to help further your ability in layout, use of colours and painting.

Duration: 8 weeks / two days a week
Course fee: 11,000/-
Timing: 17:00 – 19:00


11. Sketching Portraits
Learn to use charcoal, pencil and paint to render fantasy scenes, portraits, reproductions of old masters, architecture etc, with many lessons teaching tricks, tips and techniques of how to develop the artist's eye. You will learn to draw portraits and sketch faces, and how to employ more gradual range of tone, with attention to mid-to-dark values to strengthen the modelling.

Duration: 6 weeks / three days a week
Course fee: 10,000/-
Timing: 18:00 – 20:00


12. Fashion Design and Presentation
When designing a garment or a collection a designer needs practical knowledge
of the fashion scene via research and development as well as presentation skills blended with patternmaking and construction experience to do justice with the creativity. This course will develop your conceptual and practical skills in fashion through practical exercises specially designed to develop the mindset and application theory of fashion design.

Duration: 08 weeks / two days a week
Course fee: 14,000/-
Timing: 17:00-18:30


13. Digital Photography workshop
Learn how to make pleasing and technically excellent digital images. The course covers fundamental and advanced aspects of photography. A lot of practical examples are presented and explained based on facilitator’s numerous years of field experience.

Duration: 08 weeks / two days a week
Course fee: 9,000/-
Timing: 17.30-19.30


14. Introduction to Classic Persian Poetry

A comprehensive and historical introduction to Persian poetry and its stalwarts from the 10th to the 18th centuries. The course emphasizes the history and development of Persian poetry and prose, this advanced-level language course introduces various formal elements of Persian literary tradition. It analyzes literary texts and explores the linguistic structure, fine grammatical points, and syntactic intricacies of classical Persian.

Duration: 8 weeks/ two days a week
Course fee: Rs. 10,000/-
Timing: 17:30 – 19.00


15. Healthy Harmonium (Play and Sing)
This course is ideal for the absolute beginner, those who want to refresh their memory or those who simply want to solidify their musical foundations. It introduces the students to the theory of Swar (notation) and Tal (time), basic techniques of vocal and harmonium playing, Raaga and voice exercises and also to classical and semi-classical pieces. Learn how your voice works and what scale best fits your voice. This course will also give you the knowledge and practice of music alliterations, basic theory and definition of music terms, performing songs and ghazals along with the mystical tunes of the harmonium. 

Duration: 12 to 24 weeks (Two days a week)
Monthly fee: Rs. 3,000/-
Timing: 17:00 – 19:00

 

Note: The workshop timings, duration and resource are indicative and subject to change due to the specialized nature and arrangements of the workshops, they organized with a flexible schedule depending upon the minimum number of participants registered. A workshop can't commence with less than 7 participants. Workshop timings can also be changed due to circumstances and sometimes announced workshops can be completely called off.

•  Please register early to avoid disappointment. We reserve the right to modify or cancel any workshop or course at our discretion. In case of cancellation, participants will receive a full refund. We cannot refund fees to a student who chooses to discontinue in the mid of the course.

The IVS was granted an independent charter by the Government of Sindh in June 1994, thereby empowering
it to award its own degrees. It was the fourth private institution of higher learning in Pakistan to be given degree awarding status.
Admission to the School is strictly based on merit as determined by an aptitude test, an interview process and a weightage criteria.
