
The Marium Abdulla Library was established when the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture was founded in 1989. The Library houses approximately 9500 books, including 950 dissertations based on research work carried out by the IVS students each year and over 10,000 slides on the subjects being taught at the School. The Library also has a subscription of over 30 international and local journals/magazines.
The OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) is available for students, faculty and other users of the library.
Computers are available with Internet Wi-Fi connectivity and e-mail facility for students and faculty of the School.
The Marium Abdulla Library Newsletter is circulated to all members and Library users.
The Library supports recreational programmes held at the School from time to time.
The Library supports IVS Publications and provides them to individuals and organizations.
The Library organizes book exhibitions in collaboration with publishers and book-sellers, making inexpensive high quality books available to its users.
Users of the Library may obtain material pertaining to the Education UK Resource Corner, providing information about institutional profiles, postgraduate study in the UK from the Library.
The Library is open from 8. 30 a. m. to 7.00 p. m. on working days (Mondays to Fridays) and on Saturdays from 8.30 a. m. to 4.00 p. m. For more detail, please refer to the Library user’s guidelines.
External users (students or faculty) are advised to bring a letter of reference from their institutions if they wish to use the resources of the Marium Abdulla Library. The Library lacks adequate seating capacity to accommodate a large group of outside users at a time. For this reason, large groups must inform the librarian in advance by telephone (021-3 5861039/326) or by e-mail at library@indusvalley.edu.pk, so that appropriate arrangements may be made prior to the group’s arrival.
